Research results of sodium copper (II) ethylenediaminetetraacetat (NaCuHedta*2H2O) compound as an additive to feedstuffs to prevent copper deficit and disorders caused by its shortage in organisms of animals were presented. Study of the acute and chronic toxicity of the observed preparation on the laboratory animals was realized. Research results showed that the preparation dose of 3,96 mg or 0,69 mg of pure copper was the threshold dose and 7,91 mg of preparation or 1,351 mg of pure copper caused death of 50-63% of mice (LD – 50%). Preparation dose equal to 0,0656 mg (equivalent to 0,0115 mg of copper) in the first 30 days of application caused the stimulating effect but in 60 days since the beginning of tests – caused the toxic effect
