[The productivity and cross sectional area of the trunks of the apple cultivars Antey and Tellisaare on rootstocks of various vigor in intens orchard]

Results obtained in 2001-2005 researches in optimal planting constructions on drawf rootstock 62-396 and semi-dwarf rootstock 54-118 combined with cultivars of various vigor. The orchard was established in 1990 using biennial seedlings. Yield (kg/tree) of apple cultivars Antey and Telisaare on the rootstocks in the researches was higher in the thinner planting design for all systems of tree crowns forming. However the crop yield (t/ha) rose with the increase in the number of trees per hectare. The increase in the trunks cross sectional area was higher in thinner planting design
