[The modern development of geographic unformation system of the National Park Belovezhskaya Pushcha]

Need and urgency of the use of modern geographic information system technology in nature protected activity is considered. The analysis of works carryed out in the past on creation of GIS Belavezhskaya Pushcha, has shown the unsatisfactory condition of topographic and catrographic bases, but structure and filling of databases does not answer the tasks which were put before the geographic information system of the national park. Phased plan action was designed on modernization and improvement of the geographic information system. Functional possibilities of the GIS technology for information support of the management decisions for development and reception of nature protected measures on natural complex Belavezhskaya Pushch conservation as well as rational use of natural resources are revealed
