Productive and pomo-technological properties of drupes [under] arid conditions [of eastern Serbia (Serbia and Montenegro)]

Data for several meteorological parameters, and yield and fruit properties of drupe fruits over the 1986-2002 period are presented. Air temperaturre show a growing and precipitation decreasing tendency. Depending on relevant conditions, yields were irregular. A positive yield trend was found for sweet cherry and peach, and negative trend (i.e. decrease) in sour cherry, plum and apricot. Coefficient of correlation between the major meteorological parameters and yield was different for each fruit species, and no general regularity was observed. The fruits of all examined drupe species and cultivars showed varietal characteristics with favourable chemical composition.
