Evapotranspiration is one of the basic elements of water balance, whose determination is important for many scientific disciplines. Calculation of evapotranspiration, on the case example of the river basin Veliki Rzav with a large extension of carbonate rocks, was determined by the use of the appropriate numerical model, which is used comparatively with the method of the water balance. The applied model has a solid physical base and it produced positive results in heterogeneous geological conditions.
