Application of the Profibus communication protocol to control of the pressing plant in vegetable oil industry

The paper deals with application of Profibus communication in the frame of supervisory and control system realization for the pressing process in vegetable oil production industry. Profibus communication was used for connection between programmable logic controller and frequency converter. This way enabled data acquisition from frequency controllers (and subordinated motors) as well as control of their behaviour. Exploitation experience confirmed correctness of choice of that way communication in the plants in process industry.
