Natural potentials of the touristic recreative region of Stara Planina mountain [Serbia]

Stara Planina is the most interestig mountain range among the whole highland areas of East Serbia. This paper is trying to revive possibilities of development of this border - area since it is wrongfully neglected. This area has continual population decreasing, with economic stagnation and as border-area it is not included into the main transportation network. Therefore this area has the basic development chance in tourism (winter and recreation). After building highway Nis - Bulgarian border, this region would be better connected with other parts of the Republic of Serbia.
