On complementarity of multifunctional agriculture and rural development

The primary aim of this paper is an attempt at theoretical and methodological clarification of the concepts multifunctional agriculture and rural development, well as their mutual relationships. The last part of the paper deals with the practical understandings of these three concepts (multi-functional agriculture, rural economy, and rural development) in the policies of European Union, as in the actual agrarian and rural policies of the Republic of Serbia.
