The chemical properties of Montenegro Prokletije [Mt.] soils [The Republic of Montenegro]

In the area of 70 square km of Prokletije mountains soil chemical properties were examined. The soils which have been researched are situated on the south-east of the Republic of Montenegro in the area between Visitor, Starca, Nadzinata and canyon of Rugovo, Vaganice and Sjekirice. The altitude of sampling was 883-2426 m. We have recognized 19 different soil types in this area. The results obtained exhibited that soils in general are of poor chemical properties, with strong acid reaction, lack of nutritive and inconvenient adsorptive complex content. Extremely low is the content of easy-available phosphorus due to the absence of phosphorus in parent material.
