[Plant extracts and chemically nonactive compounds in plant protection]
2006
Milenkovic, S. | Tanaskovic, S.
Today market production in agriculture tends to virtually minimize the use of conventional pesticides. Increased requirements as regards eco-toxicity reduction and resistance development in economically important pests have resulted in new solutions to pest number control. Protection is based on the forecast-information service sources along with optimized terms for pesticide application, as the corrective applications unless the previously taken measures, through care taken of crops, repellents and antifeedants use, have diminished pests number to be below the economical level of insect injury. In other words, it refers to the application of horticultural oils and soaps, synthetic chemicals based on plant extracts with well-known insecticide effects, microbial pesticides and inert material (caolin clay).
