Use of shiikuwashas (Citrus depressa Hayata) in systematized biennial bearing citrus 'Harumi'

Characteristics of citrus 'Harumi' on Shiikuwashas in a systematized biennial bearing method were examined. In a systematized biennial bearing method, in comparison with trifoliate orange, 'Harumi' on Shiikuwashas had many buds. It causes easier maintain tree vigor. The fruit size was more bigger, but the yield was almost the same, and juice solids content was slightly lower. As fruit load was small, the labor of pruning was reduced. From these result, Shiikuwashas was considered to be a suitable rootstocks for 'Harumi' under systematized biennial bearing method.
