Blue cultivars of Hydrangea macrophylla don't color clear in Ebb and Flow irrigation system which uses nutrient solution circularly. So, the influences of phosphorus concentration in nutrient solution, the way of addition of aluminum sulphate and the timing of stopping fertilizer were investigated. Loss than 5mg/l phosphorus concentration in nutrient solution didn't inhibit coloring blue. It seemed better for stable and clear coloring to not supply phosphorus in forcing. Aluminum sulphate was effective for coloring clear blue by addition to both nutrient solution and substrate, adequate concentration were 100mg/l for former and 4g/l for latter. Furthermore, aluminum content in flower bud became high and sepal colored clear blue by stopping fertilizer in later term. The timing was best when sepal started elongation for both color and growth.
