Anthelmintic efficacy of moxidectin, ivermectin and leavamisole against Toxocaravitulorum in buffalo calves

This study was conducted to evaluate the anthelmintic efficacy of moxidectin,Ivermectin and Levamisole against naturally infected buffalo calves with Toxocaravitulorum. Eighty calves positive for Toxocara vitulorum were divided into fourgroups of 20 calves each. Moxidectin (Cydectin) was administrated s/c to group A atthe dose rate of 0.2 mg/kg body weight. Group B treated with Ivermectin (Avimic)s/c at the dose rate of 0.2 mg/kg bwt. Group C was treated with Levamisole(wormatox) 7.5 mg/kg orally, while group D served as untreated control. Theefficacy of moxidectin, Ivermectin and Levamisole after 21 days post-treatment was100%, 99.55% and 99.025%, respectively, while there was slight increase in theaverage eggs count in control group D.
