The resultsrevealed that the three groups of farmers started use of chemical fertilizers indifferent periods of six categories. A majority, 26.25% farmers started its usefrom 21-25 years ago. Nitrogenous fertilizers were used in greater amount thanphosphate, potash and complex fertilizers due to lower prices. The highestaverage annual mean cost of Rs. 9913.3 was found for large farmers followed bymedium and small farmers, with Rs. 6975.6 and Rs. 1800, respectively. Thedifference in cost for large and medium farmers is significant over smallfarmers, while there was no significant difference between the costs of mediumand large farmers.
