The effect of nitrogen fertilization on grain and protein yield of naked and husked spring barley

In the study the response of the naked cultivar Rastik and two husked cultivars Rataj and Rodion to nitrogen rates was determined. The grain yield of barley (mean of three cultivars) increased at the N rate of 60 kg/ha. Protein content of grain and protein yield increased at the N rate of 90 kg/ha. The naked cultivar Rastik gave lower grain yield and higher protein content of grain in comparison with the husked cultivars. Protein yield of Rastik was similar to protein yield of Rodion and lower than that of Rataj
