In vitro study revealed that Trichoderma harzianum (Th-1) isolated from pineapple planting soil, fluorescent Pseudomonas (4 isolates) and non-fluorescent bacteria (4 isolates) isolated from vegetable soybean planting soils inhibited mycelial growth of Pythium deliense on potato dextrose agar. Vegetable soybean seeds (var. AGS 292) treated with powder formulation of T. harzinaum (Th-1) and suspension of eight bacterial isolates was planted in soil infested with P. deliense. Result showed that surviving plants from seeds treated with T. hazianum (Th-1) and 8 bacterial isolates were 27.1 and 9.2-40.3 percent, respectively, whereas from non-treated seeds was 2.7 percent.
