Organic matter content in reclamed lands after mining industry

Low in organic matter content is the main characteristic of the spoils, formed by different geological materials form the open coal mining processes. Depend on the recultivation project after reclamation works, spoils have been grassed, afforested or used for agricultural purposes. Nevertheless the reclamation has been made without spreading of humus materials after some period of time accumulation of organic matter in the spoil surface begin. Actively participation of vegetation in soil formation processes is the main reason for organic matter accumulation.
