2007
Chobanova, S. | Aleksieva, D. | Ilchev, A.
This study included 152 samples of ingredients and compound feed for poultry and pigs. The mean content of chromium for the feed ingredients was 1.53 ppm, ranging from 0 to 6 ppm. The mean content of chromium for the compound feed (total) was 2.73 ppm. The highest chromium content was found for layers compound feed – mean 4.42 ppm (with a deviation of up to 11.5 ppm). Although the absence of a standard for the allowed content of chromium in compound feed, the results were disturbing to us. The reason for this statement is the fact that the mean chromium content in the studied compound feed was many times higher than the allowed chromium content in foods.
