Research results of benthic animals found in ponds of the National park Braslav Lakes in the Republic of Belarus were presented. There were found 129 species of benthic animals belonging to 9 following classes: Hydrozoa - 1 species, Turbellaria – 2 species, Oligochaeta - 2 species, Hirudinea - 3 species, Arachnoidea - 8 species, Crustacea - 11 species, Insecta - 95 species, Bivalvia - 3 species and Gastropoda - 4 species. Cyrnus insolutus (McLachlan, 1878), Velia caprai Tamanini, 1947 (Water cricket) and Sialis lutaria (Linnaeus, 1758) were found on the territory of Belarus for the first time. Species revealing the crenophilous properties formed the core of studied springs fauna, many of them proved to be the evident glacial relics. It was supposed that the observed spices were kept in Belarus since the last phase of glaciation. The fauna of aquatic insects was also represented by a number of rare and poorly studies in Belarus and Europe species, for example, Synurella ambulans (F.Muller, 1846), Nemoura dubitans (Morton, 1894), Beraea pullata (Curtis, 1834), Halesus digitatus (Schrank, 1781), Plectrocnemia conspersa (Curtis, 1834) and Sericostoma personatum (Spence, 1826). Springs of the National park Braslav Lakes proved to be the original fauna refugium some species of which inhabit the ponds of Northland and mountain systems of Europe
