The aim of the study was to find out the effect of different container volumes (CV) and N fertilizer levels (0.06, 0.12, 0.18, and 0.24 kg N/ha for CV 1.7 L; 0.3, 0.6, 0.9, and 1.2 kg N/ha for CV 2.7 L; 0.5, 1, 1.5 and 2.0 kg N/ha for CV 4.5 L) on growth of young Citrus limon seedlings. Calcium Ammonium Nitrate was applied as a fertilizer. The experimental design used was a 3 x 3 factorial design laid out in a completely randomized arrangement with three replications. The pots were filled up with sand and soil at a ratio of 1:1 by volume. Increasing CV significantly increased the dry weights of whole plants, number of leaves, heights of plants, heights of canopy, stem diameter, dry weights of roots and shoots. However, increasing N fertilizer levels did not affect the number of leaves, stem diameter, but linearly and quadratically increased plant height, weight of roots and shoots. The interaction between CV and N fertilizer levels was significant for the weights of roots, shoots and whole plants, canopy and height of plants but not the number of leaves and stem diameter. Therefore, increasing N fertilizer levels increased the growth parameters as the container volumes increased.
