Changing taste: simple sweet overtook household biscuit.

Compared to last year's same period sweet biscuit retail turnover increased in value by 5% in August 2005 - July 2006, and it is close to HUF 20 billion a year. At the same time, volume sales increased by 6% and are expected to reach 25000 tons. This has been stated, among others, by ACNielsen Market Research Company. Customer taste is changing. Volume sales of dry-biscuits, including household biscuits, has decreased; the one of sweet biscuits has increased, so the proportionate share of the two categories is 27-27%. An increase can be registered in case of dipped, mixed biscuits and cakes, including muffins.
