Effect of planting methods on grain yield of bread wheat in rainfed condition
2003
Yavari, Iraj
A two year field experiment was conducted at Dryland Research Station of Sararood, Kermanshah to determine the effects of four Planting methods, on grain yield if breed wheat in rainfed conditions. The planting methods applid were:1-Laying seed under the fertilizer layer 2- Laying seed a bove the fertilizer layer, in both methods Amazon planter was used. 3- laying seed and fertilizer togther with Hassia planter and 4- cinventina method so that seed and fertilizer Were board casted on the Surface of the soil followed with ploughing. Three winter types dryland wheat cultivars used were Sardari, 471Alborz and Sxl/Glenson. The quantity of fertilizer used was N40kg+P40kg per hactare. At the first year, there was no significant difference among yield of cultivars as well as among seeding methods but interaction between the two factors were signficant at 5% probability. Interaction of Sxl/Glenson and laying seed under the fertilizer layer planted by A mazon, produced maximum yield. At the second year, there was no significant difference for this interaction, howerver the interaction of this method with cultivars Sx1/Glenson and Sardari was the highest yielder. Interaction of Hassia planter method and Sx1/Glenson produced the highest yield. Combined analysis over two years showed significant difference between Planting methods and cultivars at 5% level of significance. Planting method with Hassia planter was the best method and cultivar Sx1/Glenson produced the highest yield.
