Tetranychus spp (urticae and cinaharinus) are the major mite pests of egg-plant in many countries. Population of different stages of Tetranvchus urticae Complex and rate of infestation (under natural and artificial infection) along with amount of damages caused by spider mite on nine commercial egg-plant varieties Mashhad black. Borazjan, Black beauty. Black Nyshabour. Zabul indigenous, hnami9O5. Jeibar, Sarkhan, Slender Varamine) of egg plants were studied during period of 2000-2001 in Varamine region. Mite stages (egg and mobile) were counted in 4 cm2 of under side, in both places of main rip of the leaves on lower and upper egg plants'leaves at weekly interval. The period of study (June-Oct.) was the same in second year also and mites counting carried out under natural and artificial egg-plants infestation conditions. Statistical analysis done on collected data through T-test and results indicated that. the lower leaves possessing more active stages whereas upper leaves found with more mite eggs which statistically was significant at level of one present. Maximum mean of active and egg stages recorded 170.93 mites and 110.58 eggs on Boraz and Imami 905 varieties respectively. Statistical differences between artiflcial and natural egg-plant infestations by spider mites also observed which showed that, artificial one was significant at level of one present with higher rate of infestation. Maximum mean of active and egg stages in 18 period of seasonal sampling (weekly interval) occurred in same time for two wpes of mite infestation which recorded in 6th and 7th interval of sampling (early and middle of Aug.) for the year of 2000 while two peak of mite eggs (early of Aug. and late of Oct.) along with a single peak of active stages observed at beginning of November in the year of 2001 Higher and lower rate of damages caused by mite on different varieties ..1 .
