Heat insulation coverage for milking equipment milk lines
2007
Zujs, V. | Priekulis, J. | Kursiss, R.
In the work different heat insulation materials that can be used for covering of milking equipment and washing liquid pipes have been investigated. Such coverage is necessary at lowered ambient temperature (during winter time) and using long milk pipes because at such conditions excessive cooling of the washing liquid takes place and then temperature can decrease below the recommended limit (25 - 40 deg C). The research has been carried out in laboratory conditions. The data obtained in the experiments are used to calculate the heat transition coefficients of differently insulated pipelines. It has been stated that the most suitable heat insulation materials are stone wool, mineral wool and foam plastic. Industrially prepared elements are produced of these insulation materials that can be easily used for covering of pipelines of the corresponding diameter.
