Influence of market regulation processes on competition within electronic communications industry

The aim of this paper is to assess influence of market regulation process on competition within electronic communication market in Latvia, by applying European Union (EU) and national legislation on market regulation, as well as examining competition from the classical point of view of economics. To assess the efficiency of national regulatory body (Public Utilities Regulation Commission) in the telecommunication sector the input-output model for public administration is employed.
