In 1995, 1999, 2002 and 2006 students of the faculty of veterinary Medicine of Latvia University of Agriculture and veterinarians ranked 20 professional topics according to their importance to be learned in the English language classes. Data are mathematically processed. There was no significant difference in the respondents' opinions in the 4 years of inquiries. Topics mentioned by the students as more important were: clinical examination, symptoms; surgery; anatomy; special, general pathology; laboratory examination; while veterinarians thought that more important professional topics to be included in the English classes were: clinical examination; control of infectious diseases; special, general pathology; professional ethics; food hygiene, inspection. The obtained results will help the English teacher to develop adequate class content suitable for veterinary students' needs in their professional communication according to the integrated language and content acquisition.
