Field evaluation of different chemicals was conducted in Los Angeles, Butuan City, Agusan del Norte [Philippines] using hybrid rice variety, PSB Rc 72H (Mestizo) to compare the efficacy of different chemicals against bacterial blight of rice caused by Xanthomonas oryzae pv. oryzae. Before the application of the different treatments, T1-Funguran, T2-BLB stopper, T3-Kocide, T4-Multi-purpose detergent (MPD), T5-Effective Microorganisms (EM) and T6-Untreated Control. Statistical analyses showed no significant difference on percentage infection and disease severity of bacterial blight on hybrid rice. At seven days after application, BB infection was significantly lower on treated fields than the untreated control, except for EM treated fields where infection (4.29 percent) did not significantly differ from the untreated fields (4.28). At 10 days before harvest, disease severity rating significantly differed among the treatments. Funguran, Kocide, MPD and BLB stopper had disease severity rating of 3.0, 3.2, 3.2 and 3.6, respectively. EM treated fields had 5.9 disease severity rating which means that lesion of the affected plants covers 25.50 percent of the leaf. The effect of EM on BLB did not significantly differ with the untreated control (6.3 percent). Highest yield was obtained from Funguran (5.33 t/ha) followed by Kocide, MPD and BLB Stopper with yields of 5.14, 4.74, and 4.42 t/ha, respectively. Yield obtained from EM treated field did not significantly differ from the untreated field. Untreated field yielded 3.68 t/ha.
