The present study was among a series, which were being developed with an aim to understand the stress response of major and Chinese carps cultured in Pakistan towards dynamics of their biochemical parameters. Four groups, each comprising 6-8 fingerlings, were subjected to starvation regimes of 0 (control). 15, 30 and 45 days in indoor laboratory aquaria after being acclimatized. Results of percent body composition analysis revealed that water increased, dry weight, organic weight and fat decreased significantly while ash & protein remains constant when expressed on weight basis.
