The objective of the studies was to evaluate the environmental pollution around the layer farm and poultry house with Salmonella rods as well as their impact on the hens' immunity. The research covered 3 poultry farms. The bacteriological examinations on hens' litter, faeces and soil were made, determining Salmonella entereditis bacteria. Besides, the birds' serum was assayed for the presence of antibodies against SE with ELISA test. The occurrence of SE was found in a single sample of faeces in 33th week of life at farm I as well as at farms II and III in the litter and faeces in 20th and 33 weeks. No presence of these bacteria was recorded in the soil throughout the treatment period. The immunological examinations showed that in 18th week of birds' life at farm I, a positive reaction percent amounted to 4.34, whereas in 33th weeks - 13.04 percent. The hens from farm II in their 12th week demonstrated a mean geometrical titre - 0.721, percent CV- 12.5, while seropositive birds percent - 8.6. In 18th week of life a decrease of the mean geometrical titre was observed, and an increase of percent CV and seropositive reactions (21.73). In 25th week the percent CV and percent positive reactions declined but the mean geometrical titre went up. A similar trend of S. enetereditis occurrence was stated in the birds coming from farm II, but in the further experimental periods (25, 33 and 55 weeks)
