The aim of this work was estimation of usage efficiency of two new chemical additives acidifying preparation with an inhibitor of the secondary oxygenic fermentation of whole crop maize silage. The whole maize plants were ensiled on the laboratory scale in a small silo (V=3.5 cubic dm) without (control) or with addition of the chemical acidifying preparation - Neubacid Sil-P Liquid and with an inhibitor of aerobic spoilage - Neubacid Sil-C Liquid. The losses of dry matter and protein during the ensiling process were significantly lower than in the case of conventional silage. The maize ensiled with the inhibitor of the aerobic spoilage was clearly less susceptible to the secondary oxygenic fermentation than both remaining silages
