The purpose of the present study was to determine the effect of buckwheat seed cover on the foraging activity and development of lesser grain borer. The material for the traits consisted of kernels of the cereal crops: spring wheat, winter wheat and winter triticale. The results indicate that lesser grain borer can be dangerous to stored grain of winter wheat cv. Piko. An addition of ground buckwheat hulls did not influence significantly the development of the beetle. Moreover, when ground buckwheat seed covers were added to kernels of the wheat cultivars Piko, Histra and Wilton, the numbers of offspring beetles increased
