Spent brewer's yeast have health promotional properties similar to beta-glucans isolated from them, so they can be a valuable and considerably cheaper diet supplement, improving lipid metabolism by aterogenic diet and improving intensial microflora content leading to selective growth of favourable lactic acid bacteria, especially Bifidobacterium and Lactobacillus and limiting the growth of Candida albicans. Simultaneous use of indigestible saccharide prepartions in diet did not influence unequivocally the increase in their biological effects
