Role of small storage reservoirs in supplying villages with water

The paper presents the rules of defining usable capacity of small storage reservoirs to increase the present disposable water resources in the existing and planned cross-sections of water intakes. Inapropriate quality of surface waters make potential users build water intakes in these cross-sections which are located on source reaches of rivers without proper estimation of disposable resources. Conditions of improving the guarantee of water input for existing technical infrastructure are shown in the paper, taking as an example the water intake on the Lesnianka stream in the commune of Lipow, Zywiec district (Poland)
