The cones and the seeds of the Rychtal scots pine were acquired from plus trees living in the Rychtal forest and from the clones living in the Miedzyborz clonal seed orchard (Poland). An analysis of traits of cones and seeds revealed significant differences between each particular plus trees and clones. A comparative analysis of the material from plus trees and clones showed that clonal cones and seeds are bigger but the shape was the same. The germination energy of clonal seeds was found poorer than that of seeds of plus trees but there was not difference in the germination ability. There are no comparable differences in number of scales and number of full per one cone either
