Postnatal growth of hybrid turkey muscles and muscle fibers

In this work, results of investigation of changes of biometric properties and histochemical properties of muscle fibers in hybrid turkeys (Canadian Hybrid 2200) of two ages (18 and 52 weeks), both sexes, were presented. It was proved significant difference between birds and muscles; older male birds were 3-times, female 1.5-times weightly, similar were masses of breast and leg muscle too. This differences are contradictory with fiber diameters; it is assuarance the theory of postnatal increase muscle fibers number.
