Breeding of tropic fish species in our climate conditions is possible in classic land based fishponds only during the summer. In cold period of year, when water temperature goes under optimum even below lethal temperature, breeding of those species is possible by: heating the water, using industrial warm waters, using geothermal waters. It is know for some time that usage of heater water increases cost of fish production. Geothermal water is pure, reliable and renewable source of energy. We have over 200 drills of geothermal water, a plenty of well skilled workers and strongly expressed market demands that could justify breeding of trophic species and building of fishponds on geothermal waters. Tilapia nilotica and Clarias gariepinus are recognized as a species that could be easily introduced to our aquaculture because of their accommodation ability.
