In the paper it is presented the possibility of multicriteria optimization method usage, ICOR (Iterative Compromise Ranking) for selection of optimal tractor system for ploughing, based on available data on technical characteristics of tractors engines, and exploiting characteristics of operating machine - tractor systems for ploughing. The applied method, based on the relevant data, provides the prospective user of tractors and other technical systems with a selection of optimal variant.
