Camprag, D.(Poljoprivredni fakultet, Novi Sad (Serbia))
In Serbia and the surrounding countries, sunflowers are damaged primarily by the species Adelphocoris linealatus Goeze., Dolycoris baccarum L., Lygus pratensis L. and L. rugulipennis Popp. Among these, the most dominant species is L. rugulipennis. The harmfulness of Heteroptera is manifested in the form of reduced kernel weight and oil content and increased acidic number. In seed materials, there is a decrease in germinability. Kernel weight decreases by 6% at low damage levels, 12% with medium damage, and 37% when the damage is large. Oil content is reduced by 5.2% at low damage, 7.7% at medium damage, and 17.1% with large damage. On average, 10% of the total sunflower seed stock becomes damaged by these pests every year.
