The productivity of 35 apricot cultivars was studied at the Radmilovac Experimental Estate of Agricultural Faculty in Belgrade, Serbia, during the period of eight years (1996-2003). Cropping of apricot cultivars was irregular and variable, both over years and cultivars. During eight-year period of research a high yield was achieved in four, low in two, whereas in two years there were no yield at all because of the occurrence of late spring frosts. The average yield ranged from 2.6 kg per tree in cv. Stella to 42.4 kg per tree in cv. Sulmona. A specific cumulative yield varied from 72 to 960 g per square cm of trunk cross-section area. Due to a high oscillation in cropping between years, coefficients of variations for yield had very high values (77-122%). As compared to a standard cultivar - Hungarian Best, statistically significantly high yield was obtained in eight cultivars. Moreover, statistically significantly low yield was obtained in also eight cultivars. On the basis of average yield per tree, apricot cultivars were classified into four groups of productivity: low (1 cv), medium (11 cvs), high (18 cvs) and very high productivity (5 cvs).
