The researches were conducted in anthropogenic soil type, chernozem with signs of gley in loess. Cultivar of beetroot seed Bikor, with germination of 75% was used in the experiments. There were three types of sowing density (30 x 10 cm, 50 x 10 cm and 70 x 10 cm), with three harvesting dates (10th of September, 25th of September and 15th of October). Every type was conducted in four replications. The highest root yield of industrial beetroot was achieved in case of sowing method with 50 x 10 cm distance between plants, in both study years. Reduction of the distance between plants, caused more significant decrease of root yield, compared to the condition when the distance was increased. The best time to harvest was 15th of October. and the worst was 10th of September. Expressed in relative values, the difference was 9.19 t/ha or 19.4%. Higher root yield of beetroot in all variations, in the second study year, was probably caused by more favourable precipitation, during vegetation period.
