Kanacki, Z.
Within the frame of this master thesis, the influence of different sources of selenium on dynamic of some biochemical parameters in blood serum of broiler chickens, as a marker of health status and morphological and physiological disorders in organism and body weight, as a basic productive parameter was investigated. Different sources of selenium did not have influence on concentrations of proteins, uric acid and triglycerides, as well as on body weight. The activity of serum alanine aminotransferase was in physiological levels in all groups, but the significantly lower levels, in the age of 21 days, were in groups which were given organic bound selenium. Higher than physiological levels of serum aspartate aminotransferase activity were observed in the age of 21 days, in chickens which were given only sodium selenite. Organic bound selenium had influence on reaching physiological levels of glucose concentration in age of 21 days. The cholesterol concentrations were in the physiological levels in all groups, but significantly higher level was in group which was given only sodium selenite in compare to the group which was given combination with more organic bound selenium, in the age of 42 days. With the increase of organic bound selenium in the diet, in the age of 21 days, the calcium concentrations were significantly increasing, but in the physiological ranges, while the concentrations of phosphorus were decreasing. The groups, which were given only sodium selenite or the combination with more sodium selenite, had phosphorus concentration above physiological ranges, in the age of 21 days. This influence on concentration of calcium and phosphorus was not observed in the age of 42 days.
