The work reports on an improvement to the prototype of a device for detecting eggshell solidity developed in 1991. The aim was to update the device to meet our requirements for measurement speed, precision required, high frequency of measurements and statistical processing of measured values. For this purpose modern measuring technique and computer art were used. A mobile measuring device includes a built-in tenzometric force sensor, which can be connected to a data collector. Destruction of eggshell is caused by forcing the stylus with a diameter of 4 mm operated by a shift measuring arm. The force effect is derived from screw pressure through leverage. The solidity of eggshell depends on the force (in N) necessary for its destruction. After the computer is connected, each measurement is saved in the form of file, which is possible to export into a suitable program of variation-statistical processing. Based on veritification of the device constructed, its utilization in practical conditions is recommended.
