Identification and quantification of corporate risk of forest enterprises

The article is about theoretical analysis of corporate risk, which concerns the owners and forest maintaining businesses. The first part covers quantification of risk as a variance from expected revenues and also describes the possibilities of risk consideration in discount rate, when calculating the forest investment rentability. Second part describes the short term risks resulting from the decrease of subsidies in the area of ecological forest maintenance, decrease in wood demand, lower consumption of final wood products, distortions in the economical environment of the wood processing industry, lowered ability of forest enterprises to react on market swings and season orientation of forest production. Increase of risk caused by lowering of the state subsidies is documented by the trend since the year 1999 till 2002.
