The concept of multifunctional agriculture is the core of CAP ofthe EU. One of its main characteristics is joint production of commodity and non-commodity outputs i.e. scenic landscape, cultural heritage, prevention of natural risks, biodiversity, viability of rural economics a food security. Those outputs are considered as public goods - non-excludable from consumption and every individual can utilise them free of charge. Therefore there is no function market for non-commodity outputs and no market price placed on them. Moreover, if the general public who benefit from these non-commodity outputs is not informed in appropriate way about them and do not appreciate their value, they will not approve of any intervention policy. The aim of this article is to reveal the attitudes of the general public towards different elements of multifunctional agriculture and their willingness to pay for provision and maintenance of non-commodity outputs produced by Slovakian agriculture (applying CV method).
