Investigation on agronomic characters of 26 F5 spineless safflower were carried out at the National Corn and Sorghum Research Center, Pakchong district, Nakhonratchasima province in 23 December 2000. The results revealed that the studied safflower lines gave a shorter flowering period range from 9-20 days. They had a thinner thickness of hull than the recommended variety, Phanthong. This result suggests that it would be higher oil content in these improved lines. Fourteen lines were selected for testing their yielding ability and analysis for oil content in the next season.
