First experiment was conducted in the laboratory and comprising three parts. The results of experiments conducted in the laboratory showed that the pulping waste water was highly alkaline having pH 10.6, it contained high potassium content of 5,900 mg/l, high electrical conductivity and low in other plant nutrients. Roi Et soil series was high acidic with pH 4.2 and had low content of potassium and organic matter. Application of pulping waste water to Roi Et soil series increased available potassium content including rate of potassium release as did potassium chloride fertilizer. The second experiment was carried out in pot and it consisted of two parts. Pot experiment using pulping waste water as source of potassium for RD 23 and Khao Jao, Haum Klong Luang 1 rice grown on Roi Et soil series showed that growth, yield and total potassium uptake of rice increased significantly. The effectiveness of potassium chloride and pulping waste water on increased growth, yield and total potassium uptake of RD 23 rice were similar. However, Khao Jao, Haum Klong Luang 1 rice application of pulping waste water at the rate of 100 mg K2O/kg showed lower effectiveness of yield than that of potassium chloride while at other rates they were similar. Application of pulping waste water to Roi Et soil at the rate of 0, 25, 50, 100 mg K2O/kg did not change soil pH and EC in all stages of rice growth. Therefore, pulping waste water from potassium hydroxide treatment could be used as potassium fertilizer for rice grown in Roi Et soil series.
