The effect of probiotic Lactina supplemented in the pre-starters for suckling piglets was studied through three experiments in the pig-breeding farms of 'Boni Holding' in 174 sows and their offspring. Each experiment was carried out with two groups of animals – control and experimental. All of the animals were fed with pre-starters containing 14.4 MJ ME, 22 % CP, 1.35 % digestible lysine, 0.96 % Ca and 0.41 % available P. The probiotic Lactina, 0.5 kg/t concentrate forage was included to the feeding of the experimental groups. The average results from the three experiments showed that the experimental animals had 25.8 % higher consumption as a result of the addition of the probiotic Lactina. The piglets' health was significantly improved. From 25 to 65 % piglets fallen ill are falling ill with colibacteriosis.
