Substantiated are four technologies for the collection of plant remainders from root crops like maize and sunflower after the collection of grain. Aggregates and self-propelled machines, sold in Bulgaria (locally produced or imported from EU) are used for the technological operations. Preliminary economic evaluation of these technologies has been made and shows big difference in the expenses for collection of crop remainders for technologies with Bulgarian machinery - between 45.4 and 134.9% (for maize) and between 53.6 and 145.3% (for sunflower) and similar technologies with machinery, imported from the EU – between 24,9 and 123,1% (for maize) and between 30,1 and 109,7% (for sunflower). It has been determined that replacement of Bulgarian machines with similar, imported from the EU can incur expense growth of 26, 4 to 47, 1% for maize and of 24, 4 to 46, 9% for sunflower
