Ecological features of influenza a virus infection in wild birds

The relationship between the biological distinctive features of wild migration birds and the ecology of influenza A virus in nature is relativealed. On the basis of literature data and personal research the importance of viral carriers with regard to the prevalence of the virus among the wild birds species - the seasonal variations - age-related susceptibility - subtype distribution and transmission in wild and domestic birds are reviewed.
