[Physiological, ecological and economic grounds for application of growth regulators derived from triterpene acids for potato]

Research results of biological and economic efficiency of plant growth regulators Hydrohymate (5% water solution) and Ehkosil (5% water emulsion derived from of triterpene acids) for potato (Solanum tuberosum L.) growing in the conditions of the Republic of Belarus were presented. Both phytohormones increased yielding capacity of all studied potato varieties (Lazurit, Briz, Talisman and Skarb) except Neptun variety. Three time application of Ehkosil in the vegetation period promoted yield increasing of Briz, Talisman and Skarb varieties on 16,4-36,3% and starch and dry matter content on 0,7-3,6%. Yield increase of Briz variety was 5,5 t/ha, Talisman variety – 7,9 t/ha, Skarb – 4,6 t/ha. Analysis of sprouted and non-sprouted tubers of 7 potato varieties treated with phytohormones showed that two time application of Hydrohymate provided the following yield increases: Lazurit (3,8-4,4 t/ha), Delfin (4,5-5,4 t/ha), Uladar (8,4-11,1 t/ha), Snegir (6,6-9,0 t/ha), Kapriz (4,5-4,8 t/ha), Molli (6,4-6,6), Neptun (1,2-2,5 t/ha). Three time treatment of potato tubers with Ehkosil provided higher yields: Lazurit (8,8-11,3 t/ha), Delfin (12,1-16,7 t/ha), Uladar (11,8-15,3 t/ha), Snegir (9,4-11,3 t/ha), Kapriz (12,2-12,8 t/ha), Molli (2,1-4,7), Neptun (8,9 t/ha). Results of tuber biochemical analysis showed that Hydrohymate increased dry matter content in Delfin variety up to 19,2%, in Lazurit – 21,2%, in Uladar – 20,0% and increased starch content in Delfin variety up to 14,8%, in Lazurit – 14,2%, in Uladar – 13,6%, in Kapriz – 13,1%, in Snegir – 14,5%. Treatment with Ehkosil decreased nitrates accumulation in tubers of Delfin variety up to 140 mg/kg, Lazurit – 133 mg/kg, Uladar – 53,2 mg/kg. High economic efficiency of studied phytohormones was proved in course of field and production experiments
